Day 01 :: BHUBANESWAR
Arrival at Bhubaneswar, check in at hotel for wash and change. Post wash and change, hit the roads of Bhubaneswar with SLR’s and DSLR’s for city tour
accompanied by professional photographer and travel guide for temples and caves sightseeing. Overnight at Bhubaneswar.
Brief information of Bhubaneswar:
Bhubaneswar is the capital of the Indian state of Odisha or Orissa. Other than Temple City of India, Bhubaneswar has been known by different names such as
Toshali, Kalinga Nagari, Nagar Kalinga, Ekamra Kanan, Ekamra Khetra, Tribhubaneshwar, Udra etc.
Bhubaneswar has proud possession of magnificent sculptures and architectural heritage, coupled with the sanctity as Ekamrakshetra which make this one of
the great religious centers of Odisha since early medieval days. With its large number of Hindu temples, which span the entire spectrum of Kalinga
architecture, Bhubaneswar is often referred to as a Temple City of India. Together with Puri, Konark and Bhubaneswar forms the 'Swarna Tribhuja' (the
'Golden Triangle'), one of the most visited destinations in East India.
Day 02 :: BHUBANESWAR – KONARK – PURI
Post breakfast at Bhubaneswar, hit the roads leading towards Konark and then finally to Puri. The distance is just 100 kms but we aim to reach Puri at
evening only. The entire day will see the action pack photography and excursion trip to Dhauli (Ashokan Rock Edict & Peace Pagoda), Pipili (Applique /
Patchwork village), Konark Sun temple & Fishermen village. Evening during dinner critique session will be organized with professional photographer /
guide accompanying the tour. Overnight at Puri.
Day 03 :: PURI PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR
Morning post breakfast, proceed for local city tour including Jagannath temple, Grand road, Gundicha temple (non hindus are not allowed inside the
Jagannath and Gundicha temple) and artist village of Raghurapur / Nayakpatna / Dandasahi for Oddissi Gotipua classical dance. Back to Puri and in the
afternoon free on the beach and beach market to have some beautiful pictures. Overnight at Puri.
Day 04 :: PURI – GOPALPUR
Start for an adventurous day. You might have never dreamt of cruising in river with the old traditional boats made from logs. This is what we are going to
head forward for. Post breakfast drive towards Gopalpur, en-routing visit to Chilika Lagoon. Cruise in Chilka lagoon by boats to visit islands and temple.
Later drive to Gopalpur and overnight.
Brief information of Chilka Lake:
Chilka Lake (Chilika Lake) is world’s second largest a brackish water lagoon, spread over the Puri, Khurda and Ganjam districts of Orissa state on the east
coast of India, at the mouth of the Daya River, flowing into the Bay of Bengal. In 1981, Chilika Lake was designated the first Indian wetland of
international importance under the Ramsar Convention.
Chilka Lagoon is the largest wintering ground for migratory birds on the Indian sub-continent. The lake is home to a number of threatened species of plants
and animals. The lagoon hosts over 160 species of birds in the peak migratory season. Birds from as far as the Caspian Sea, Lake Baikal, Aral Sea and other
remote parts of Russia, Kirghiz steppes of Mongolia, Central and southeast Asia, Ladakh and Himalayas come here.
According to a survey, 45 percent of the birds are terrestrial in nature, 32 percent are waterfowl, and 23 percent are waders. The Lagoon is also home to
14 types of raptors. Around 135 rare and endangered Irrawaddy Dolphins have also been reported. Plus, the lagoon supports about 37 species of reptiles and
amphibians.
Day 05 :: GOPALPUR – RAYAGADA (220 KMS / 05 HRS)
Morning after breakfast drive to Rayagada en-route visiting Taptapani Hot Sulpher Spring Water, Chandragiri Tibetan Settlement and Desia Kondh tribal
villages situated by the road side. (Should be a Tuesday)
Day 06 :: RAYAGADA – CHATIKANA – JEYPORE (220 KMS / 05 HRS)
After breakfast hit the road to Chatikona to witness the weekly tribal market of this colorful Donghria Kondh tribes which occurs once every Wednesday. It
is a unique opportunity to witness such a colorful concentration of typical tribes at one place. More interesting would be to watch women in their colorful
costumes and jewelers. Not only that, one can glance at their barter system. After the visit of market return to hotel.
Post lunch depart for Jeypore in Koraput district. En-route brief halts to visit the low land tribes and their settlements. Overnight in Jeypore.
Day 07 :: JEYPORE – ONUKUDELLI – JEYPORE
After breakfast drive down to Onukudelli area to see the famed Bonda, Gadaba & Didayi tribes.
In this district of Koraput-on the northwest of river Machkund, live the wildest, rudest and possibly the most interesting tribe known as Bonda tribe. The
scanty dress of Bonda women and homicidal tendency of Bonda males make them most fascinating people. Thus they stand in sharp contrasts from the
neighbouring castes and tribes of Odisha. The Bonda call themselves-Remo and speak a very difficult Austro-Asiatic language. They are generally
agriculturists and expert cultivators. The irrigated and terraced paddy fields on high hills prove their skill in rice cultivation. Picnic lunch en-route
while visiting few villages of Gadaba Tribes. Overnight at Jeypore.
Day 08 :: JEYPORE – KUNDULI – KOTPAD TEXTILE VILLAGE – JAGDALPUR
The total excursion tour for today is going to be 260 kms. Morning visit of Paraja and Sana Paraja tribe - weekly tribal market on Friday and villages.
The Paraja tribes are found mostly in Koraput district. Their language is Parji. The Parajas have a number of totemistic septs like Bagh - Tiger, Bokda -
goat, Netan - dog, Panki - dove and the like and harming of eating of the totem animals is strictly forbidden and instead they should be respected. They
worship various Gods and Goddesses residing in hills or forests. During wedding the Parajas resort to dance and music. Later visit Jagannath temple of
Koraput and Koraput Tribal Museum. Then visit of Kotpad weaving village on the way to Jagdalpur. Overnight at Jagdalpur.
Day 09 :: JAGDALPUR – MARDOOM MARKET – CHITRAKOOT WATERFALL – JAGDALPUR
Morning post breakfast visit Jagdalpur Palace and later drive to Chitrakoot waterfall. Afternoon visit Mardoom tribal market of Maria, Halba, Bhatra and
Raja Maria tribes. Evening a dinner with critique session with accompanying photographers and other travel participants will be organized . Overnight at
hotel in Jagdalpur.
Day 10 :: JAGDALPUR – NARAYANPUR MARKET – MURIA GOND VILLAGE – JAGDALPUR (220 KMS / 05 HRS)
Morning after breakfast drives to Muria villages and watch their spectacular dormitory dance. Later visit Narayanpur market of Hill Abhuj-Maria tribe. Lots
of good photographic chance there. Evening return to Jagdalpur and overnight.
Day 11 :: JAGDALPUR FULL DAY
An excursion tour of Jagdalpur and a visit to Maria villlage to be a part of Bison Horn Dance. Afternoon will be spent on doing local photography at
Tokapal market of local Gond tribes. Overnight at Jagdalpur.
Day 12 :: JAGDALPUR – TIRATHGARH WATERFALL – PAKHNAR TRIBAL MARKET – JAGDALPUR
Morning visit spectacular waterfall at Tirathgarh. Later visit Pakhnar tribal market amidst forest to see Dhruwa and Gond tribes. Also visit a Gond tribal
village with their tribal temple (Gudi). Overnight at Jagdalpur.
Day 13 :: JAGDALPUR – RAJIM – RAIPUR (330 KMS / 06 HRS)
Morning after breakfast drive to Raipur en-route visiting Rajim Lochan temple of 10th Century and Champaran. The entire journey is approx 360
kms. Arrive Raipur in evening and overnight hotel.
Day 14 :: RAIPUR
Day free at Raipur. One can relax at hotel or do some last moment street photography at Raipur. Evening a farewell dinner will be organized by the tour
operator with the guide. Overnight at Raipur.
Day 15 :: RAIPUR AIRPORT DROP
Tribal Village Photo Tour terminates at Raipur and after breakfast drop at airport / railway station for onward journeys with sweet memories.
